On May 18 the children and families of the Diabetes Garden group went to the Nikita Botanical Gardens on the seaside of the Crimea peninsula. The drive is about 2 hours from Simferopol.
In Nikita we were picked up by the scientists of the research Institute and they told us about the herbs they selected useful for people with diabetes and how to take them. They gave us the seeds of these herbs to grow in our garden and the families will have a chance to grow them too. Then they showed us the garden. It was time of irises and roses blooming. We had dinner in the Institute’s café. On the way back we stopped near the caves and learnt to be tourists and had a lot of sport competitions. At 7 p.m. a bus full of sleeping people arrived in Simferopol. We were tired but happy.
